Got Stryper Charters

Chatham fishing charters running April through December, out of any harbor the fish are in. A hand-lettered Book Now button turns over the hero, and a live seven-day forecast sits above the captains, the rates and the contact form.

The brief

Got Stryper runs April through December out of whichever harbor the fish are in. The site had to answer a first-time caller’s real question before the phone rang, and keep a seven-day forecast in front of people deciding on a date.

Decision 01

The first question is never “what does it cost.” It is “what am I going to catch?”

That question was being answered one phone call at a time. Putting the answer on the page turns a call into a decision the visitor can make themselves.

Decision 02

So the answer is a thing you touch, not a list you read.

Fifteen species, each on its own card with its own drawing, size and family. Open one and the catch reels up into frame the way it comes over the rail.

Nine inshore species and six offshore, each on its own card. Click one — the catch reels up into frame, and the arrows reel through the rest.

Decision 03

The forecast sits above the rates, not below them.

Weather decides whether a charter happens at all, so it outranks price in the page order.

The hand-lettered Book Now button is the one drawn element on the site; everything else is set. One wink, and it sits on the only action that matters.
