Whale watching, seal sightseeing and private eco charters out of Chatham Harbor. An illustrated view from the helm opens the page; the trips carry their real durations and rates, and booking hands off to BoatBooker.

The brief
Chatham Eco Tours needed to look like the harbor it runs out of, and to hand a booking off to BoatBooker without the visitor feeling handed off. The trips had to carry their real durations and rates up front.
Decision 01
Every surface is a step between harbor water and deep water, so the page reads as one body of water seen at different depths rather than as a set of brand swatches applied to boxes.
Sampled from the live site: the four navigation strips are these four values, in this order, top to bottom.
Decision 02
Four full-height strips down the right edge, each one step further down the ramp, labels set vertically in condensed caps. The navigation is the palette doing work, not decoration sitting next to it.
Live · the real component, running here
The four strips are the site’s whole navigation. Hover one and it brightens to white; the ramp is what tells you where you are.
Decision 03
A charter is a scheduling decision before it is a purchase. Every trip carries its length and its price where it can be compared.
